Below is the list of internal club ‘Grand Prix’ races, and details of club social events.
Grand Prix events
The 2023 trophy winners were Simon Petitt and Sarah Ferguson. Final 2023 tables: men and women. For the new 2024 GP list check here. There are 14 races, best eight scores to count. Positions after eight races – men and women.

Social events

- Post Christmas party: Annual gathering held in January to beat those New Year blues. Many thanks to everyone who joined us at The Star on Saturday 13th January for the 2024 gathering. It was great to see everyone and it looked like everyone had a great time.
- Annual London Marathon pasta party: Usually held on the Thursday evening before the marathon. In 2023, 40 people enjoyed spaghetti and lasagne at the club. In 2024 it was on 18th April. Thanks to Kellie for arranging a good meal.
- Summer BBQ – we celebrated the club’s 40th anniversary at Lingfield Sports Assoc. ground on 16th July 2023. All 50+ present enjoyed a great time, which included the traditional rounders game. The venue has been booked again for Sunday 11th August 2024. Please see the club Facebook page for booking details.
- Annual Christmas Handicap race – takes place December each year. For a small entry fee, all runners receive ‘prizes’ in the VSSC afterwards. The 2023 winner was Marije Field and she now holds the Matt Bennett trophy for one year. The club also raised £500 on the day for suicide prevention charity, PAPYRUS, plus almost £400 in other donations.
- Pub Quiz: normally it’s the first Thursday of the month at The Star Pub, Church Road, Lingfield. Meet at 8pm for a 8.15pm start. In May, June and July the team managed solid third places. Here is the picture quiz if you want to have a go. Next session should be 1st August.
